Ace in the Hole

I am sucked into scratch cards on a regular basis. They are an easy way to make sure I do a lottery a day. There are machines all over the place in Seattle. All waiting to take your cash. They even don’t make change. You only have a $20. That’s fine. You can get 10 $2 tickets. You can get 4 $5 tickets. But you can’t get change. You are fully committed. For good or bad.

Tonight when I picked up the tasty goodness needed for roasting a chicken, I also needed a lottery card. There is a wide selection of cards out there to scratch from. There is a card that was once shilled by Jack LaLanne called ‘Lucky for Life’.

I myself am fond of one called ‘Ace in the Hole’. Mostly because of the blatant connection to gambling. It says what it is, it doesn’t deny it.

Occasionally, I win the ‘Hole’ card. Not tonight.

The life gamble today wasn’t a big deal. Pun intended. I reached out to someone new. Time to broaden the circle.
